Are Biofuels the Answer to the gas crisis?

With prices at the pump as high as they are many people are looking for answers for how we can relieve this crisis. One of the more popular ideas was introducing biofuel into the mass market. Will this solve the gas crisis? The short answer is no. The long answer is no because there is no single solution to the problem. Comparative to the world, the price for gas in the United States is not high. The issue stems from the amount of gas we use. In order to eliminate the current gas crisis we need to address how we reduce our dependency on gas.The whole story can be found at http://vehiclepower.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/hello-world/

While biofuels are part of the equation they are not the solution. While a fully electric powered vehicle may be in the near future it will take quite a while for them to be adopted by the average driver. Hybrid vehicles are a good temporary solution to get the consumers adjusted to the idea of battery powered vehicles. The stigma of public transportation is gradually reducing, and bicycle commuters continue to grow at a quick pace. These are all things that contribute to eliminating our current gas crisis. The question isn’t how to end the gas crisis, it’s how to end our dependency on gas.
