The green revolution has impacted many areas of day to day life. Individuals only need to look to their car or to the lighting in their home to see witness to the impact the greening of the world has had on technology and day to day life. One area that is currently undergoing a green revolution of its own is the home lawn maintenance sector. This sector of industry is usually characterized by gas powered lawn mowers and other items. While these small engine devices have long been used by most individuals there are now some additional options available to the modern consumer. These options are more environmentally friendly and also cheaper to run. This brief article will discuss one of the new ways that individuals can cut their lawn and still be green while doing so.

Electricity has long been used for a multitude of tasks. Fortunately, now it is possible to use electricity to mow the lawn with electrical power. Mowers of this variety come in two major types. Either the unit is powered by an extension cord that is plugged into a wall socket, or it can be powered by a battery that has been charged over time. In either instance the saving in fuel and ecology are well worth their usage.

How would you like to cut your power bills by up to a quarter every month?

In these tough economic times, we need all the money we can get. Yet, one thing that most people pay without question is their power bill. Unfortunately, the truth is that most households waste excessive amounts of energy through what is known as standby power use. That means many of the electronic gadgets you own continue to draw power, even when they are “off.”

Energy conservation simply makes sense. It saves you money, and it helps ease the burden we all place on the environment. So, here are some quick tips for how you can reduce your standby power consumption. It’s a win-win proposition.

-Shut down and unplug your electronics when they’re not in use. A computer will still use roughly 10 of its power while in “sleep” mode. A cable TV box can use just as much, even up to 20 for a high-definition box.

-Look for ENERGY STAR-branded devices. These are specially designed to have lower standby consumption than comparable devices, sometimes up to 50 less.

-Buy your own watt meter, and check all the devices you keep plugged in. This will show you exactly how much power they use, and allow you to focus on the most wasteful.

-Try not to use devices which require a converter changing AC current into DC. Their converters will always be drawing excess power.

-Take rechargeable devices off of their chargers once charged and unplug the charger. This may help the lifespan of those devices as well, since many types of rechargeable battery are harmed by over-charging.

-Buy energy-conscious power strips and plug any devices you wish to unplug into them. Then you have a simple one-button on-off switch for most of your biggest drains.

You’re thoroughly modern: you’ve got mobile broadband 4gand an a leather “man bag” and you only read from a tablet, but what are you doing to help the environment? Here are a few ways any eco-concious man can rock being green without sacrificing his style:
Reusable Coffee Mug: If you live in an urban area odds are you drink way too much coffee. With new porcelain coffee containers that look just like your favorite coffee shop’s disposable cups you’ll fit right in. Plus, many coffee retailers offer discounts to those who bring their own mug.
Electric Car: If you think hybrids are as cool as your grandma you have to give fully electric cars another shot. They’re sleek and crazy eco-friendly and they’ll save you money in the long run, too.
Locavore: If you’ve got any green space try growing some of your own produce. Start with herbs and small vegetables and if you’re on the dating scene, show your lady friend. Everyone’s impressed with men who farm their own food, you know what we mean?

With prices at the pump as high as they are many people are looking for answers for how we can relieve this crisis. One of the more popular ideas was introducing biofuel into the mass market. Will this solve the gas crisis? The short answer is no. The long answer is no because there is no single solution to the problem. Comparative to the world, the price for gas in the United States is not high. The issue stems from the amount of gas we use. In order to eliminate the current gas crisis we need to address how we reduce our dependency on gas.The whole story can be found at http://vehiclepower.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/hello-world/

While biofuels are part of the equation they are not the solution. While a fully electric powered vehicle may be in the near future it will take quite a while for them to be adopted by the average driver. Hybrid vehicles are a good temporary solution to get the consumers adjusted to the idea of battery powered vehicles. The stigma of public transportation is gradually reducing, and bicycle commuters continue to grow at a quick pace. These are all things that contribute to eliminating our current gas crisis. The question isn’t how to end the gas crisis, it’s how to end our dependency on gas.

Did you know that you can clean the air in your home with plants? Plants are an environmentally friendly way to reduce air pollution in your home. Reducing the air pollution in your home will make the air smell crisp and clean. These are the best household plants that can clean the air in your home.

Palm trees look great in any home. The Reed palm,Areca palm and Dwarf date palm all clean the air in your home. They can also make your home look like a tropical paradise. The Boston Fern and the Janet Craig dracaena also make great indoor plants. You can find a quick rundown here

There are some plants that are good for cleaning the air, but you may not want to put in your home if you have pets. The English Ivy and the Peace Lily are wonderful plants for helping the air quality, but they can be toxic if ingested.

Stop buying harmful air freshers to clean the air in your home. When you buy a plant for each room in your home, your house will smell cleaner, and the air will be cleaner. You will also be doing your part to keep the environment clean. Bring nature into your home today with houseplants.

Solar Panels are still a new energy source, but since it relies on a very long lasting source, it may just become an important source of energy in the future. Why you may ask. It is because of the far-reaching advantages they have. Some of these advantages are:

1). It is renewable resource which means that we wont be in danger of running out. It does disappear behind the shroud of night time and clouds in the day, but it generally returns to full force.

2). It does not pollute the environment unlike oil.This/tag helps explain it more. It also does not emit greenhouse gases nor harm ecosystems due to dredging or spills.

3). The source from where it gets its energy is totally free! Once set up, there is no need to power them.

4). They require very little maintenance due to there are no moving parts to be maintained.

5). Lasts a lifetime or more!

6). Power from the sun is incredibly versatile. Inventions of all different sorts can be powered by it(i.e: cars, water heaters, fountains, buildings, houses, and satellites).

7). Remote locations, it may be more realistic to put in solar panels rather then having to pay to run large distances of electrical wires just to connect to the grid.

8). Left over power that you don’t use is credited back to electric companies and they pay you for that left over!!!

Here are the top ten culprits that drain energy in your home:
When a new model entertainment system comes into the market, the older model is passed on to the children’s bedroom.
Today, one fourth of total domestic electricity is being used by computers and printers.
Mobile phone recharging done at night wastes energy because it absorbs electricity even after the battery has charged fully.
Plasma TVs has a power rating of 1.5 kW – the same energy can run twenty five light bulbs!
Set Top boxes are another drain on precious energy.
Hot water wastage, especially while brushing teeth accounts for an unimaginable amount of wasted energy.
Digital Radios are in a continual state of stand-by and therefore consumes more energy.
High end sophisticated game consoles demand high specification PCs and therefore they are energy intensive gadgets.
The Work from home idea has caught on but the convenience is paid for by fitting your home similar to an office with PC, printer, scanner, fax, phone and broadband.
This may sound irrelevant but divorced, widowed and unmarried people, by virtue of their living alone, contribute to serious consequences on energy usage – a many-member-ed household uses less energy per head than a single member household.
